... subject to whim; impulsive and unpredictable
Perhaps you noticed (or not) that Cooking In Cleveland has evolved into "Capricious in Cleveland". After almost two years of posting food porn and recipes it is time for a new direction, if only I knew what direction that will be :) There will still be the occasional recipe and of course the local food movement and farmers markets, I just need to change my pace. Hope you continue to stop on by and visit me.
Meanwhile I wanted to share some new garden pics with all of you. The hydrangea and astilbe are in the front yard beneath my living room window.
The hydrangea flowers start off white, fade to pink and by Fall will be a rust color. It is really quite large, notice the Astilbe off to the side?

Those pictures of your rooftop garden are stunning. I am so impressed with what you have done.
WOW!!! the garden appears to have gotten larger! I know your tickled pink!!
Linda you'll find your direction, and whatever that maybe, it will be ;-)
Thanks Balisha & Lucy ... I have been drawing out the diagram for next years garden, which will be expanded (again) to include more veggies .. the food critic has taken to sitting outside with me in the early mornings.
Lucy I figure if I keep putting one foot in front of the other the direction will determine itself :)
I noticed you had changed your name on your blog. Can't wait to see how it evolves over the next year. :) Your roof top garden is looking good & the Roma's are fab! Mine are a fraction of that size!!! Those Oakleafs are gorgeous, I'm looking for a dwarf one for my garden that only gets about 3-4' tall & wide. My Astilbes are long since spent, that's the difference in our climates.
capricious is a great word. we can only take so much food porn anyway, and i need someone to garden through vicariously. :)
I wish my romas looked like that. My container just isn't doing well. I like the look of your new site. Good luck and keep up the great work -- Jean
Can't wait until my new oakleaf hydrangea blooms! I love your rooftop garden.
Capricious means you can blog about anything you want and nobody will say, "This isn't about Cooking, or Gardening or whatever the chosen topic is.
Or maybe it means you are driving a 25 year old Chevy to which you are emotionally attached?
Luv the rooftop garden!
Racquel I love how my maters are coming along, there should be plenty to enjoy and enough to put up for the winter.
LOL Grace .. if I need a fix of eye candy, I can count on your blog to satisfy my sweet tooth!
Thanks Jean, me thinks the maters love those 5 gallon orange buckets they live in :)
Hello garden girl .. thanks and thanks for stopping by for a look :)
ROFL Nell .. I was attached to my old Buick, she had over 200,000 miles on her when she went to the big salvage yard :)
I understand exactly how you feel. Good luck finding your new direction. I've been out of commission for the last week or so due to a hard drive meltdown. Yours was the first site I looked at after recovery.
Love those hydrangea pictures. And your garden... Fabulous! I bought my daughter a patio tomato plant for her apartment balcony. Your rooftop garden was my inspiration. She says it's full of baby tomatoes now. I think hers might be doing better than mine!
Ack Sue .. I had a hard drive meltdown some years ago, lost lots of my genealogy info which I failed to back up .. :( Glad to see you back online.
Thanks for the kind words, your daughter will love having fresh maters, even the son of the food critic is checking daily for the first ripe mater .. :)
Oh yes! I will be stopping by to visit, I don't care WHAT you call your blog, I will be there!
Best wishes on your new format.
Love the roof garden pics!
LL
Thanks Elenka & Lori .. :)
good for you on the change; its fun to try something else. And, I can't believe how much further behind my tomatoes are.
Thanks Maybelle's mom :)
I just love your rooftop garden! If you have a green thumb, where there's a will there's a way. Beautiful!
