Rainy days...

Living in Cleveland my entire life, I am quite familiar with "lake effect snow", but "lake effect rain"???? I popped out between showers to grab a few pics of my blooms after the rain, or so I thought.

Zucchini and Marigolds

Impatiens

...this little beetle was floating upside down in a puddle, I rescued him with the stick and asked him to pose for a pic

...just as I was snapping this pic of my asparagus fern, the rain came sheeting down giving the pic a rather eerie look

I'm getting so tired of the rain. Yes, the grass still looks nice and green, but what's the fun when you can't walk through it for all the mud? -- jean

Misery loves company.
Thanks for the tip on sardines with saltines. I love sardines!!

The end result of lake effect rain is that it causes one to ask favors of tiny critters one has snatched from the jaws of death.

Get inside right NOW! Can't you see that thunder and hear that lightning?

WHTS .. I really dislike when we get those spinners, whether it is winter or summer .. move on already :)

Elenka .. you didn't send this deluge my way did you? Try those sardines, saltines and mustard .. and if you both have the raw onions all the better .. LOL

Nell that little beetle did not seem appreciative of the fact that I not only saved him from drowing but from the jaws of death of a blue jay .. he actually tried to use those pinchers on me! Humph!!

DH asked why I was standing outside in a thunderstorm under an electric transformer (above the roof) .. ooooops!

And.... the thunderstorm will be arriving in NY momentarily! I can hear the rumbling in the distance & getting darker by the minute. My poor garden is gonna be battered once again... geesh!

Your flowers & veggies are still looking mighty good.

Lucy even the flowers and veggies have had enough ... and it is raining as I type :)

Maybelle's mom .. enough I say! LOL

that's one monstrous and hideous beetle--i don't believe i'd be messing with him!
and i've had it with the rain. sprinkles occasionally are fine, but torrential downpours every day is ridiculous.

I love sardines with mustard on a saltine too.
That picture of the marigold peeking through the leaves is neat. You take wonderful pictures.

Sigh Grace ... it is still raining and supposed to be raining tomorrow, this is a week of rain now ... stop!!

Me too Balisha .. picked up some at the grocer today, I like to keep them for late night snacking :) Thanks for the compliment on the pic, I love these digital cameras.

And I am from the land of 10,000 lakes which are drying up. hear you about the rain - there were years I considered building an ark! And I envy you - your zucchini flowers....

Wish you could share that bounty of rainfall with some of us who aren't getting a drop right now. ;) That last shot was cool!

No rain here. We've been in the 100s all week. I've taken to hiding out in the house. Love your pictures. You certainly have a talent!

Beautiful pictures!

I am coveting your rain. We need it, need it, need it. Tomorrow the nuts will be shooting off firecrackers and bottle rockets, and we have a burn ban in effect. Doesn't affect fireworks tho, and I can just see one of the corn fields going up and taking the whole town with it.

We are praying for rain. Pray for us to get some rain, too, please?

Claudia I will have to try the flowers next year, I got more than I thought I would :)

Racquel the rain is clearing out, soon your mama will be whining about the hot temps ... tis the nature of the beast LOL

Thanks Sue .. you hit the 100 mark? Oh I would definitely be in full whine mode at those temps .. I do not like heat! Warmth yes, heat no!!

Janie I would gladly share the rain, and hope that your 4th is quiet.

Thanks Cynthia :)
