Old Fashioned Peach Pie

"Food, like a loving touch or a glimpse of divine power, has that ability to comfort" ~ Norman Kolpas

This Old Fashioned Peach Pie is more like a cobbler because it has no crust.

Swedish Peach Pie

6 large peaches, sliced
Sugar
Cinnamon
3/4 cup melted butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/4 tsp. salt

Slice peaches and place into a pie pan, sprinkle lightly with sugar and cinnamon. Combine the rest of ingredients and spoon over peaches. Dust batter lightly with sugar. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 45-60 minutes or until golden brown.

This is so homely and delicious. I love to eat peaches au-naturel but I love dishes such as this. What a treat!

Is there any left over for me! Love your desserts.

R2S Thanks :) I love them fresh too, but in a pie is delish.

Thanks Usha, it is :)

Hi Candy, I didn't get peaches put up this year, maybe some will be left at the market.

Thanks Theresa, you better hurry! The food critic and I are not frosting folks, so these types of desserts often grace our table.

Wonderful dessert Mom, just needs a scoop of vanilla icecream to make it perfect. :)

You know how I feel about peaches. Your dessert looks so good. Unfortunately for me, I think the peaches are mostly gone from our farmer's markets. Oh, well. There's always next year...

Thanks. It was barely in the 60's today, I will skip the ice cream till next season :)

Hi Lucy

Oh this one is definitely good, I like it warm.

I know what you mean, I hope they have some left at the market this Saturday :)

Sue

No reason you couldn't use pears or apples in this pie :)

Thanks, and we still have peaches available from Bauman Orchards here in Ohio ... I plan on putting some up for winter.

I'm seeing peaches everywhere - up to and including the two baskets I bought today that for sure tomorrow will become peach pie. The pie looks totally perfect to me...now all I have to do is fire up the ice cream maker. This is diet food, right? Yeah, I thought so.

OhioMom said...

Of course Giz, any dish that contains fruit should be considered a diet food ... :)

Ice cream ? Oh yum, I will be right over.

This looks like the best way to use of some of those peaches from the market!

Oh man, I'm dieing here looking at this peach pie! Everyone has had peach something except me this year! Not. One. Bite. Yet!!! I want to crawl through the screen and nab this pie. *sigh* Also, I love your festival fall photo as your avatar. It's getting close to pumpkin time! :-)

OhioMom said...

Thanks Jessica, and they are still available :)

Paula

Thanks :) The avatar is actually a photo from the Coit Road Farmers Market harvest festival last year.

Can I just tell you how good that looks! Not a peach in this house, but I do have some apples. I suppose it would work with apples, what do you think?

OhioMom said...

Hi Marie

Thank you. You can use apples, peaches or even pears with this pie.
